Inquiry + Frustration + Commitment + Feedback = Life-Long Learning

· Process

o Teaching & Learning is a process involving many different factors

§ Through these factors learning occurs

· Curiosity, Frustration, & Commitment

o These are the basis of any teaching and learning:

§ Teachers encourage learners to explore their own self-directed curiosity

§ Teachers also must provide a safe environment for learners to experience frustration

§ Commitment is required by both the teacher and the learner:

· The teacher will not move on and leave the learner behind

· The learner will celebrate and work through any frustration or challenges they come across

· Open-minded feedback

o Both teachers and learners learn through open-minded dialog so as to learn from one another through questioning for clarity

· Life-Long Learning

o The goal of any teaching and learning experience is to develop the passion for life-long learning

· Destination Unknown

o Once a learner is empowered and confident in the above ideals his/her destination is unknown!
